Problem Fixed?
I was informed that most of the videos I posted could not be accessed. I had most of them set at private on YouTube and now they're set as unlisted so that should fix the problem. I just didn't want random people to look at Kara on YouTube. Enjoy :)

Two Things I Love
Kara has always taken a pacifier and, boy, I sure am grateful for it. Sometimes it's easier to just stick a plug in her than to bounce around trying to get her to stop crying...especially when the plug calms her down in 1.5 seconds. But she might like her pacifier a little too much now...
Is this not the most enormous garlic clove you've ever seen?
Yes, this is ONE clove. Look at it compared to this clove. Even though this clove might be on the smaller size, it's probably 1/5 the size of the monster one. Sheesh!
I think I got a mutant head of garlic. The clove on the right is from another head and the other two are from my most recent purchase.
And that concludes my post on two things I love: Kara and garlic.
The End.
How many pacifiers can you find?? I'll make cookies for the first person to get it right :)

Best Job Ever
I love being a mom, most especially the mother of Kara. I wouldn't give it up for anything.
If I didn't get to stay home and be with Kara everyday I wouldn't get to hear this numerous times a day.
And I wouldn't get to do things like this
Or this
And I wouldn't get to watch this all day.
It's SO worth it. Even when she's like this
I love that she loves my hair, even though she's capable of grabbing only a strand or two and yanking like there's no tomorrow (thankfully, for now she only seems to be interested in my hair).
I love that she is constantly playing with her tongue. She rolls it and flips it; she has quite the talent :)
I love that she can stare at someone as though she is looking into their soul.
I love how excited she gets when I pick her up in the morning/after naps. She can't contain her excitement and buries her face in my shoulder and wraps her little arms around my neck.
I love that she likes going on errands with me. She rarely has a meltdown when we're in public (for now).
I love that she loves her bottle. If she sees it she HAS to have it. Though I'm not sure she knows it exists until she sees it :)
I love that she is a happy baby and generally even tempered. When she is not happy it's usually my fault.
And even though she's refusing to nap and crying at this very moment...I LOVE my squisherdoodle.
SO SO much.

Yum
This is what I made Trevor for dinner on Valentine's Day:
I don't particularly like fresh tomatoes, in fact, I use to HATE them. But with some good olive oil, fresh basil, and this yummy balsamic syrup stuff I got from Gloria's Little Italy in Provo, bruschetta has become my favorite. The fact that it's easy to make is also nice.
Bacon-wrapped filet mignon (I totally bought it pre bacon-wrapped and everything), mashed potatoes and gravy (definitely from a gravy mix), and roasted asparagus. YUM! I sort of felt like I was cheating because of how many things I bought that were prepared for me, but it was so good I didn't care that much.
Freeze a little Crystal Light in the bottom of the champagne glass, pour in some Martinelli's, then top with some frozen blueberries and you've got yourself a tasty, romantic drink.
All in all this was an easy meal to make but it was delicious. And Trevor liked it, which is what I was going for :)

New Member of the Family
Yesterday, we made a new addition to the family. Trevor brought home this
to replace this
If you use the second monitor we have as a comparison you'll realize how enormous this thing is (yes, I said second monitor and I'm pretty sure he'd try to keep all three if he had room on the desk for them). This thing is 30 inches. I'm pretty sure our TV is only 32 inches.
Needless to say, Trevor was and still is excited. These are some of the things he said to me/Kara in relation to the monitor (which, I have no doubt, will very soon be getting a nickname of some sort...if you know Trevor well you know why I say this):

It's monstrously beautiful!
I'm giddy as a school boy!
This is absolutely ridiculous!
(at least he knows it's ridiculous)
Love, just LOOK at it!
It's so big!
Squishy, I'd give up all the monitors in the world for you because I love you that much.
He's so funny, but he does come by it honestly. His dad is the same way.
I think we're going to be the family with all the newfangled technology gadgets. If it makes the hubby happy and draws all of our kids' friends to our house then I'm okay with it. :)
| We love our technology nerd (speaking of Trevor, of course) :D |

New Blog
I was on the phone with my mom the other day telling her about some of the new recipes I've tried recently. She told me I should start a food/cooking blog and I decided to listen to her suggestion!
The point of the blog is to be a resource for people interested in finding new recipes who don't want to spend the time looking for the recipes themselves. I love to cook and love to try new things. With this blog I can encourage people to cook and give them new recipes that have already been tested, which means no wasting your time on recipes that look good but in reality are less than wonderful.
This is just something fun for me to do and I hope some of you will find it useful!

7 Months
It has been a while since I've posted much of anything about Kara. She is 7 months old today and is as cute as ever.
*Right now she is just over 16 pounds.
*She can sit on her own without falling very often. If she has support she can sit and play with toys all day long.
*She smiles all the time and is nearly always pleasant mannered.
*She picks up anything and everything within reaching distance.
*Her favorite toys are all the things she can't play with: cameras, Daddy's Blackberry, plastic bags, the newspaper, etc.
*She giggles more now than she use to but still is a screech-er and a grunt-er.
*She has been eating solids for over a month and is a total pro. Her favorite is smashed bananas with rice cereal. I think she ate 1/2 cup or more in one sitting the other day.
*She knows what her Binky is and has figured out how to put it in her mouth on her own.
*She figured out how to unlatch her diaper if she's not wearing any clothes...I'm dreading the day she learns to take off her pants.
*She can make little faces using her eyebrows that make me laugh so much!
I'm not sure it is possible to love someone more than I love her!

| I know I'm a bad mom for giving her a mo hawk, but I was bored yesterday. If she was a boy I might not feel so guilty. It's still funny though :) |

Conversation ♥s
We recently got a new kitchen table and I now feel the need to have a centerpiece of some sorts on it at all times. It's just so big and empty looking without one. I decided that for the month of February I would place this on the table
It's super simple and some of you might think it's cheesy but I like how easy it was to put together. Also, it was fun to read all the conversation hearts. Oh, and that's our kitchen table. I haven't taken a picture of it yet so this will just have to do. Or go here to see it.
I have forgotten how funny some of the conversation hearts are. Some of my favorites are, "Crazy 4U", "First Kiss", and "Say Yes". Of course there are the random ones like, "High Five", "U Can Do It", or "Go Go Go". I'm not quite sure what the "Go Go Go" one is trying to get across. Anyway, some of them remind my of my childhood and some are very strange, but they're all fun to read. When I came across these
I thought, "when did 'Tweet Me' and 'Friend Me' come into existence?" The "Text Me" one makes complete sense. Texting has been quite the rage for some time now, but "Tweet Me" and "Friend Me"??? Maybe I just haven't bought conversation hearts in a while...
Then I wondered when they got rid of "Page Me". I could have sworn I saw one in the bowl, but when I searched through nearly every heart I couldn't actually find the one I thought I saw. And then I was sad for a moment. Next, I felt old. Do kids these days even know what a pager is?? Probably not. I had a moment of silence for the axed "Page Me" conversation heart and then stumbled upon this one
Now, I'm sure it goes along the same lines as this one
but that's not what I initially thought when I saw it. Maybe it's because I'm immature or maybe it's because I'm a mom and speak primarily in baby talk. You be the judge. But someone should have read it aloud before they O.K.ed it. OR had a mom/child look at it...just sayin'...
