Christmas 2009

You can all thank my dad for taking pictures at Christmas because I didn't take a single one. And you can thank my in-laws for giving me a camera for Christmas because now I might actually post more than 4 times a year.

This year Trevor and I spent Christmas with my dad in Rigby, Idaho. All the kids were able to come up, even my sister and her family who live in Buffalo. Despite the fact that there is NOTHING to do in Idaho we had plenty of fun just hanging out together. Whenever you get me in a room with my sisters we're bound to have fun. We might ignore our husbands, but that just gives them the chance to bond, right? :) There was lots of eating and game playing. We did attempt to go see Sherlock Holmes at the ONE theater that was open in the greater Idaho Falls area, but it was sold out both times. No surprise really. There was only ONE theater open! We were definitely in small town Idaho. So, instead we watched movies at home.

It was a short trip for us because we're both adults now and Trevor had to go back to work that Monday. No more getting 2 weeks off for Christmas. We have to take vacation days for Christmas, a totally new concept to both of us. I'm not sure I like it.
Now it's a new year and we are both are excited for what is in store for us. We're looking to buy a house by the springtime, which I am both nervous and excited about. We are also expecting our first child in July! I am both nervous and excited about that as well. But more excited than anything.

JOBless - less = JOB!

Our exciting news is that Trevor got a job! Where? At a company called Novatek here in Utah...of all places! Trevor has tried to explain to me what the company does, but I just get confused. So Google it if you really want to know. Or just ask him.

His official title is "business development associate". Sounds important, right? Just to make Trevor feel welcome everyone in the office has made up a few names for him, some of which are CFO Jr. and baby CFO (which I find rather funny). This is because he is taking over some of the stuff the CFO does in order to free up some of his time.

All I have to say is that I am grateful to Brother Brau for making this oportunity possible and especially grateful because Trevor seems to actually like his job. Phew!

Some fun things I got to do on my week off work:

  • Go get brunch with Natalie, Mike, baby Elena, and my grandma
  • Visit with Kasia and her cute baby, Mim (Miriam). Here we are:

  • Go see Little Shop of Horros at the Hale Center Theater in Orem with the Bodily family. It was fantastic.
  • Spend quality time with Trevor, of course :)

Goodbye, Summer. Hello, Fall!

Yes, Summer is officially over and I have yet to make any updates. So, here we go!

This Summer was a busy one. Nearly every week that I wasn't working we were doing things with friends and family. Of course there was a couple of Bear Lake trips and a few boat outings (Where I learned to surf behind the boat. It was quite enjoyable). Trevor completed his first triathlon and successfully ran a booth at the Springville Folk Festival. I was able to help him run the booth two of the days he was there and we had a blast. I never thought I would enjoy doing something like that, but it was fun to get to know the people in the booths beside us. I don't think we made much money, but it was still fun.

August 9th was our one year anniversary and my gift from Trevor was tickets to see Wicked in San Francisco. I have the best husband in the world. We spent four days there and had a really good time just walking around the city. And, boy, I forgot how beautiful it is! We visited the S.F. Museum of Modern Art, Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, and took the subway to see Trevor's cousin, Nate. It was a wonderful little vacation and I loved Wicked. Strong work, Trevor! :)

Pier 39 and the famous sea lions.
(the sea lions are really supposed to be the focus of the picture, not my head)
The Golden Gate Bridge and us at Wicked!

As sad as I am to see summer and all of our lazy, fun-filled days slip away I am excited for it to be fall. I like the busy atmosphere of school starting up again (but I admit I don't miss having to actually be a part of it!), the cool weather, the changing colors, all the fun activites, and of course the upcoming holidays. This is my absolute favorite time of year, so I welcome it.
